What do you do?
Kalua are an audio creative agency and audio production company rolled into one – we’re one of only a few agencies in the UK that specialise just in audio, with our own creative team and studios based at MediaCityUK. We often tell people that while they may not have heard of our name, they’ll most certainly have heard our work. Every week the audio campaigns and content we produce are heard by over 13 million people, across BBC radio, commercial radio, and podcast platforms.
Since we launched in 2008, we’ve helped hundreds of brands and agencies connect with their audiences, by creating engaging and effective audio campaigns, radio campaigns, and audio content. We have a hard earned reputation in the UK for our audio campaigns, and are pleased to have picked up coveted MPA awards along the way for it!
Who do you do it for?
Our agency clients vary in size and type, and we’re designed to plug into any type of agency setup and act as their creative audio team. Whether you’re a small to medium sized creative agency, a boutique PR agency, or a large media agency – we can add huge value by bringing an unrivalled level of audio expertise into your agency. Our audio knowledge and insight means we often help agencies keep on top of opportunities in the audio sector, such as creating programmatic personalised audio ads or producing 3D binaural audio content.
But away from creating campaigns and content for brands and their agencies, we’ve worked with many types of clients. We even created the fictional radio station ‘Forever FM’ for Peter Kay, for when he filmed Car Share – one of my favourite pieces of work so far!
Who / what kind of businesses would you like to do more with?
For me, it’s about the people – we’ve worked really hard to create a unique agency that creates brilliant audio campaigns, and I’d love to work with agencies who are really keen to help their clients exploit the audio sector.
We work with a variety of agencies across the UK, but there’s nothing like working with local businesses. When we launched in MediaCityUK in 2008 it was still a bit of a building site – 15 years on, we’re proud of where we call home, and always get a buzz from working with the amazing agencies in our city.
How would your best client describe you?
Every single client we have is our best client – our mantra is to bring best in class audio campaigns to clients, regardless of their size or sector, and we genuinely value our first client win just as much as our last.
