NABS was founded in 1913 and is the only charity representing people working in advertising, marketing, media, sales promotion, direct marketing, PR, graphic design and web design.

NABS North West

Outside of London NABS North West is one of only two regional operations (the other being in Scotland) and is run by a dedicated team of industry professionals purely on a voluntary basis. It is supported by a number of senior former and present MPA officers.

NABS is available to assist anyone in our broad industry who, for one reason or another, has hit hard times. Help is available in a variety of ways:

  • by providing confidential advice and emotional support to people who have concerns about work or redundancy;
  • personal problems and anxieties;
  • stress in the workplace;
  • housing problems;
  • welfare benefits.

We have an arrangement with the Citizen's Advice Bureaux, which can help in many ways.

The MPA events throughout the year provide the majority of the funding for NABS in the North West and all the money raised from these events is spent on beneficiaries in the area.

Here are the people who currently make up the NABS Committee in the NW:

Last year we asked for a NABS Representative to be appointed within each organisation in the business. This person would be the conduit between the NABS Committee and all staff throughout the industry.

We also have a presentation which explains in more detail how NABS works and how it helps.
