Without Nick Johnson, Manchester wouldn’t look the same. As Deputy Chief Executive at urban regeneration company Urban Splash and Chairman of Marketing Manchester, he’s the man who takes on the big projects – think New Islington and Manchester’s Millennium Community. And he stands among Manchester’s legends – alongside Tony Wilson and Peter Saville, he was part of the McEnroe Group, formed in the devastation of the 1996 IRA bomb by people with the passion and the pride to turn our city into the place it is today.
