You can’t go to an industry event or open up Linkedin these days without hearing something about the critical importance of culture alignment.

Getting your team behind a common purpose and allowing that sentiment to organise the way the team operates can bring huge advantages; both personally and from a profitability point of view.

But what if you find your driving why is leading you left when your boss is turning the company right? Are all employees supposed to be able to suddenly re-boot their motivations, approach and even personality? How do you find and then define your culture in the first place? What if your business thrives because of its diversity? And isn’t ‘common culture’ just another way of saying conformity – and what place has that got in the creative industries?

Introducing our panellists, Josie Saville, Co-founder of 4and20million, Michal Wisniewski, MD of Flock, Erica Ingham, CFO of MediaCom North and Julie Chadwick, Director at BJL.

Josie co-founded 4and20million to help companies unleash the full potential of their people. She is passionate about helping companies become places where people turn up in the morning full of positive energy and leave at the end of the day feeling proud and satisfied with the work they’ve done.

Josie is inspired by helping businesses excel by creating high-performance cultures that enable all employees to bring their best, increasing productivity, profit and reducing churn. After all - business boils down to nothing more than groups people coming together to become greater than the sum of their parts.

When not helping ambitious companies thrive, Josie plays tennis, netball and runs around after her two children who ensure that she’s constantly kept on her toes!

Michal is the Managing Director of Flock - a new TechHR start-up based in Manchester. He studied organisational culture at The University of Manchester.

Michal specialises in people analytics and data-driven decision making designed to create more employee engagement, recruit for culture fit, and increase productivity.
